Scientists Develop Vaccine Ebola Without needles




Ebola vaccine being tested in monkeys was given through the nose and into the airways.

A group of researchers has developed a single dose of Ebola vaccines without needles that protects monkeys being infected with the virus for more than four months. The vaccine is given through the nose and into the airways.

One major advantage, according to researcher Maria Croyle from the University of Texas at Austin, USA, is a vaccine that can prevent the transmission of Ebola virus accidentally from contaminated needles.

Reports on the vaccine published in Molecular Pharmaceuticals, Journal of the American Chemical expert circles.

The inhaled vaccine using a common cold virus that is harmless. In a study of three macaques were infected with Ebola virus, none of the primates were infected with the Ebola virus 21 weeks later.

The researchers also gave the vaccine to the monkeys by injection which also protects them.

The team said the vaccine formula still needs to be studied further. Formula vaccine can be given through the bottom of the tongue are also being developed.

There are two other types of vaccines against Ebola currently in clinical trials in the US and Africa.
