Mercedes S 400 L Exclusive Version Local Profitable Consumer and State

New Mercedes Benz S 400 Exclusive

In Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2014 which took place in JIEXPO Kemayoran, 18 to 28 September 2014, Mercedes-Benz featuring 13 superior car. Five of them are the latest models launched at IIMS 2014, but the opening is quite the belle of the five was the S 400 L Exclusive.

Although somewhat not the latest model because it was launched last June 2014, but the S 400 L Exclusive appearing this time is the result of a local assembly plant in Wanaherang, Bogor.

Stephan Moebius, Sales and Marketing Director for Mercedes-Benz Passenger Car Indonesia, said the presence of the S 400 L Exclusive version of this locally assembled Mercedes-Benz proves commitment to continue to support and promote the premium automotive industry in Indonesia.
"There are two parties in this case the benefit of consumers and the state," said Stephan at the Mercedes-Benz exhibition area in Hall B, on Friday (09/19/2014).
With the presence of a locally assembled version, consumers can have the S 400 L Exclusive in the more affordable price because the government taxes lower wear.
When the S 400 L Exclusive version of CBU (Completely Built Up) priced at Rp 2.3 billion, version CKD (Completely Knock Down) or locally assembled version, comes with a price off the road about USD 2 billion.
He added that the specification is no significant difference between the S 400 L Exclusive version CBU and CKD. "Indeed assembled in Indonesia, but all the components come from different countries," said Stephan.
He also hoped the presence of the S 400 L Exclusive version of CKD can push sales volume of Mercedes-Benz in the country.
He claims the current Mercedes-Benz has a market share of 0.5 percent but still leads the market share for premium-class vehicle.
As for the state, the benefits offered are job opportunities for local workers and increase capacity.
In the process of assembling this series, Mercedes-Benz took a reliable local technicians who have received special training by experts from Germany. In total, there are 400 local employees who work in the Mercedes-Benz assembly plant in Wanaherang.
He added this also as evidence of Mercedes-Benz optimism that Indonesia has a favorable investment climate and very much in line with the business growth of Mercedes-Benz.
Asked the sales target, Stephan argues with a smile, "Part of our policy not to predict what will happen in the future."
This is not the first time Mercedes-Benz issued a model assembled in Indonesia. In fact since 1970, the German car manufacturer has issued a CKD car to car class commercial and some passenger cars.
It was only in 2012, premium class sedan version introduced CKD, including segment C, E, S and M, then followed by GL-Class in 2013.
"In the future we plan to launch a flagship product of Mercedes-Benz S 500 version CKD. Course this is a big step," said Stephan.
