Infected with Ebola, UN Employee Dies in Hospital Germany 


Berlin, - The Ebola virus re casualties. A UN employee infected with Ebola virus in West Africa, died after being treated at the German hospital since last week.



"The Ebola patient died overnight in St. Georg Clinic in Leipzig," said a brief statement by the hospital as reported by news agency AFP on Tuesday (14/10/2014). 

"Despite intensive medical care and the best efforts of the medical staff have done, UN employees aged 56 years, died as a result of a serious infection," remarked. 

Local health officials said last week, a patient who is a Sudanese doctor has arrived in Germany from Liberia on Thursday, October 9 local time. 

Germany is also taking care of two other patients who contracted Ebola in Sierra Leone. Both are an expert from Senegal who were treated in the city of Hamburg and discharged on October 4, and a Ugandan doctor who is still being treated in the city Fankfurt. 

Ebola outbreak has killed more than 4 thousand people this year, mostly in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia. The deadly virus spreads through close contact with body fluids. 

These outbreaks were increasingly causing concern world. United States President Barack Obama and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon also called for international efforts harder to combat this plague.
