Yesterday, Volkswagen Golf R has revealed the presence of Variant, which is essentially a wagon version of the hot hatch AWD German-made. VW has not said whether the R variant will be sold in the United States, but the Golf R certainly get into the market.
The official price of Golf R for the US market has been announced today, and it's not exactly cheap. With a starting price of 36 595 US dollars (plus 820 US Dollars for the purpose), 2015 VW Golf R is equipped with a DSG dual-clutch gearbox and a number of other high-tech features.
A 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine turbo with 292 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque making it the most powerful Golf ever sold in the United States. Compared with the previous generation, this one has an additional 36 hp and 37 lb-ft. Optional for the Golf R is the DDCC adaptive damping system and a navigation system, for that you should spend more in, because now the price becomes 39 090 US Dollars (excluding destination).
VW Golf R with 6 speed manual transmission which is slightly cheaper expected to arrive later in the day. All told, the new Golf R has a 0-60 mph acceleration in 4.9 seconds and has a top speed of 155 mph.
