The World Health Organization (WHO) expressed that after the new Ebola cases reported in New York, USA. While a 2-year-old girl died of Ebola in Mali.
WHO states, hundreds of thousands of doses of Ebola vaccine could be available in West Africa that was hit by an outbreak of Ebola, in mid-2015.
"Everything is being prepared for launch tests of efficacy in the countries affected (Ebola) as early as December," said deputy director general of the WHO Marie-Paule Kieny, as reported by AFP on Saturday (10/25/2014).
This was said after the meeting closed Kieny to try to find a vaccine to beat the disease Ebola. The deadly plague so far, has claimed almost 4,900 lives, the vast majority are in three West African countries, namely Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
Experts are now very hopeful the rVSV vaccine that was tested, the dose is newly arrived in Geneva, Switzerland to do a number of new trials. Other vaccines being tested are ChAd3 GlaxoSmithKline, the British company. Five other vaccines will also be tested.
Any vaccine that is proven to be effective, the WHO hopes to send these vaccines to West Africa to be tested "in the real world".
"The pharmaceutical companies are currently developing all of these vaccines, committed to the production capacity to produce millions of doses in 2015," said Kieny.
