Mercedes Benz A 45 AMG Burned and Sold in the Netherlands

You know what Macklemore says, one man's trash is another man's treasure. That's why we always have a look through the damaged section of major online car auction websites. Over in Germany, there's a whole bunch of hot cars that you can have in ruined condition, but this A45 AMG caught our attention.

It's in such bad condition that you would never know it was an A45 AMG to begin with. The hottest hatchback ever to sport a 2-liter turbo engine was clearly involved in a massive crash. One wheel has been shattered, which likely shows it hit a curb on that side and flipped over onto its roof.

After that, the car caught fire and burned to a shell of its former self. The plastic bumpers and the interior are completely gone. We'd say that it's far beyond repair, but the seller from the Netherlands still wants €9,500 for what left of itCrashed and Burned A45 AMG Selling for €9,500 in the Netherlands . As scrap, it's probably not worth more than €200 while the fantastic turbo engine has seen better days.

What would we do with €9,500? Well, you can find a very nice second hand 200 horsepower Golf GTI or a Renault Clio RS for a lot less. Sure, they're not as fast as an A45, but this pile of junk isn't going anywhere.

The reason a mangled performance car costs so much has to do with insurance. The company that covered the A45 is probably giving the driver about 80% of its value, so he needs more money to buy a new car. Will you be the guy to give it to him? We know we wouldn't.
