Southampton - A cargo ship carrying thousands of luxury car wreck in British waters precisely in the Solent. Before the grounding, the vessel named Hoegh Osaka from Singapore was carrying 1,400 luxury cars like Rolls-Royce and Bentley.

As reported by the BBC on Monday (05/01/2015), as a result of the accident the ship tilted about 50 degrees, and the vessel and its cargo rescue operations are underway.

BMW Group said it was checking whether the Rolls Royce and Mini are on board or not. Jaguar Land Rover, Honda and Bentley also checks to see if the cars were on the ship.

Reportedly, this ship ran aground after trying to maneuver to spin direction. Hoegh Osaka is believed to have suffered a fatal mechanical failure before eventually foundered in the waters of the Bramble Bank, UK.

During the rescue operation, the hull weighs 51,000 tons has been tilted 50 degrees. CEO Hoegh Autoliners, Ingar Skiaker said the ship is intentionally grounded after began to tilt when leaving the Port of Southampton. However, the exact reason for the cause of the incident is still unclear.

25 crewmen were rescued and two of them had to be taken to hospital with minor injuries.
