2016 BMW 7-Series generation Leaks
BMW 7-Series, G11 code, has been seen in the wild completely covered up. The new flagship sedan is set to be revealed at the end of this year and should be in showrooms later than autumn, arrived as a model 2016. An example of this might be a pre-production unit, which means the debut of the car show could come soon.
BMW decided to take an approach that is relatively safe with the new 7-Series design, with lines clearly influenced by Future cars luxury concept from 2014 Beijing Auto Show as well as the previous-generation models. The interior design appears even more evolutionary, with the layout of the dashboard and gear shifter design and iDrive controller wheel all appear rather conventional.
whole design feels familiar, things are very different for the parts of the car you can not see. Underlying the new 7-Series is a modular platform dubbed 35up, which is destined to form the basis of most of the lineup BMW 3-Series up.
Construction is considered the core of the platform 35up, with carbon fiber used for some elements. Weight savings for the new 7-Series could total between 300 and 400 pounds over the current model, which weighs nearly 4,400 pounds in several guises. We even heard that the car might weigh less than the current 5-Series, which tips the scales at around 3700 pounds.
powertrains, the new 7-Series expects to launch in the US on six and eight-cylinder guise initially, with the 740i and 750i cars wearing badges respectively. Further down the track we have to look at the six-cylinder diesel-powered 730d model as described here, along with the V-12-powered 760i and 740e plug-in hybrid.
