First Impressions Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R 2016
If you think the all-new 2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 launched last week at the Los Angeles Auto Show is the end of the road for tuning factory new Mustang platform, then you would be wrong. Yes, GT350 that we've all been drooling over for the past few days is actually a model of vanilla, as even stronger GT350R is said to come to the Detroit Auto Show in January.
This information was first reported by Road & Track, which claimed GT350R will pack better brakes, aero tweaks, sticky rubber, and many more. This may help explain why the prototype for the new GT350 looks at Nürburgring Germany last summer featuring upgraded much bigger than the car shown in LA last week.
Carroll Shelby GT350 itself from the 1960s have GT350R variants, which are very limited and manufactured for use competition. In addition to more power, the car was stripped of everything except the bare essentials, and they also have a series of weight saving mods such as body panels of fiberglass and plexiglass window. Expect the same upgrade to a modern GT350R.
Other details obtained from Road & Track includes scenarios possibility that the Ford Motor Company [NYSE: F] will not build GT350 convertible conversion because that would contradict the ethos focused track car. And it is also the possibility that the right-drive version of the car will not be built.
