Robert O. Blake, Jr., United States Ambassador to Indonesia, arrived in Jakarta on November 21, 2013 and handed over his credentials to President Yudhoyono on 30 January 2014. Previously, Ambassador Blake in 2009 to 2013 served as Assistant Secretary for South Asian Affairs and Central. He has served as Ambassador to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Republic of Maldives in 2006-2009. Previously, Ambassador Blake had served in India, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, and Nigeria also held various positions at the State Department in Washington, DC Ambassador Blake earned his Bachelor of Arts from Harvard College and a Master of Arts degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
