Lenovo officially acquired Motorola from Google

Computer maker Lenovo has completed a transaction to acquire Motorola Mobility by Google for US $ 2.91 billion on Thursday (30/10). The move will pave the step Lenovo enters the smartphone market in developed countries, including the United States.

Lenovo paid US $ 600 million in cash and US $ 750 million in stock, and $ 1.5 billion in debt for three years from the deal.
Analysts predict Lenovo will use the trademark Motorola still has a global appeal, Reuters reported. Because, Lenovo mobile phone brands had only popular in developing countries.

In this deal, Google is not providing the acquired 17,500 patents from Motorola. Lenovo only get 2,000 patent assets and the whole trademark of Motorola Mobility.

Google acquired Motorola Mobility in 2012 for US $ 12.5 billion previously predicted to be a hardware business units strong by Google. But it turns out that the prediction is wrong, Google release Lenovo Motorola announced in January 2014.

Google also has research and development division of Motorola, Advanced Technology and Projects. This division is developing a smart phone called Project Ara assembled by Google.
